On February, 27th in Ramenskoå the Palace of sports "Borisoglebsky" which basic specializes on badminton was opened. A total area of a new Palace is 12000 square meters on which were placed modern game arena (1150 square meters), training halls, locker rooms and shower-rooms. In days of competitions up to 2 500 spectators can visit the sport center. The multipurpose sport complex will contain in itself 15 various kinds of sports, but badminton, according to accepted by the Government of the Moscow area decision, becomes its profile kind. The Governor of the Moscow area Boris Gromov took part in ceremonial opening of the Palace. Boris Gromov: "The most important that in the new complex as much as possible children can train, therefore on the basis of "Borisoglebsky" we shall open the school of badminton. Big international competitions also will take place in the Palace. We have discussed with the President of National federation of badminton of Russia Sergey Shahray an opportunity of carrying out here the Cup of the European champions in 2008. I support this idea and I think, that the Cup of the Europe this year should take place in Russia ".
